Civic Holiday Monday Explained

If you live in Ontario you will know that Monday August 1st is the Civic Holiday Monday. Most people have no clue why this holiday even exists. It started many years ago in London, ON when the merchants in the Richmond Row shopping district decided to collectively close for the first Monday in August to take there families for a picnic. The holiday has since caught on and has since spread throughout Ontario.

If you are planning to celebrate Civic Holiday Monday with a picnic you can either do it with an old fashion blanket or try it out off the ground with one of our handy folding picnic tables. They fold up and easily fit in your cars back seat or trunk.
